Edo APC Gov Candidate Gets Party's Certificate Of Return
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, on Saturday received his certificate of return from the leadership of the party. Okpebholo last Thursday defeated Dennis Idahosa and 10 other aspirants to emerge the party’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship election.
The presentation of certificate comes in the wake of protest and threat of litigation by Idahosa who claimed the re-run poll was a sham, deliberately arranged by the National Working Committee to favour the winner.
EFCC Accuses Saraki Of Blocking Investigation
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has accused the former Senate President Bukola Saraki of hindering the agency from probing him. EFCC counsel, Chile Okoronkwo, made this known to Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Wednesday when the fundamental rights enforcement suits filed by the former Senate President were mentioned in the court.
The EFCC had, in 2019, said it would probe Saraki’s earnings between 2003 and 2011 when he was governor of Kwara.
EFCC Quizzes Medview Airline CEO, Muneer Bankole
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has quizzed the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Medview Airline, Muneer Bankole. Naija News reports that the anti-graft agency detained Bankole on Monday at its headquarters in Abuja over a case of alleged diversion of hajj funds.
It was gathered that Bankole arrived at the EFCC headquarters around 11am following an invitation by the commission regarding the case.
Bankole is said to have received funds from the National Hajj Commission, and an additional $900,000, for the airlift of pilgrims in 2019.
